How to Join the Swedish Ski Club

Membership in the Swedish Ski Club is open to all persons interested in skiing. Applicants for membership must attend two Club activities and submit an application in writing to our Membership Chair. The acceptance of an application requires the affirmative vote of all members attending a Board Meeting to which the application has been submitted. The Membership Chair will inform you as to whether your membership has been accepted. The final step is the payment of initiation fees and annual dues, which will be prorated according to the date of your initiation.

Initiation Fees

New members pay regular dues (prorated according to their date of joining), plus an initiation fee according to the following schedule:

Fees can be refunded during the first five years for those who must discontinue their membership by moving away from the Greater NY Metropolitan Area. In such a case, which has to be approved by the board, the following schedule shall apply:

Reinstatement of Former Members

The following dues schedule is applicable for former members in the Swedish Ski Club who want to be reinstated as members within ten years after their resigning from the Club.

1. Reinstatement within five (5) years from last day of valid membership: Initiation fee equal to annual dues for applicable category of membership during the season preceding the reinstatement.
2. Reinstatement after five (5) years but within ten (10) years from last day of valid membership: Initiation fee equal to one and a half times the annual dues for applicable category of membership during the season preceding the reinstatement.
3. Reinstatement of former family member younger than 25 years: No initiation fee.
4. Reinstatement of former family member 25 years or older, but younger than 28 years: Initiation fee equal to half the annual dues for applicable category of membership during the season preceding the reinstatement.
